Shady Side Academy’s Rowe Hall Renovation Project
, Pittsburgh, PA was honored with Gold Level LEED Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.  Situated in the center of the Academic Quad of Shady Side Academy’s Senior School Campus, Rowe Hall serves as the main academic classroom building on campus.  The new facilities provide expanded academic and student gathering spaces, while preserving and enhancing the historic architectural style of the campus.

Design features that contributed to the building’s Gold Level LEED Certification include: site planning that promotes carpooling and alternate modes of transportation; re-use of existing building materials; extensive use of perimeter day-lighting to reduce overall energy requirements, and a comprehensive signage program to educate occupants and visitors of the benefits of green building. Here are some photos of the completed project.
